ABOUT

Partnering Independence

History

VetAlliance began trading in June 2017 as a start-up business that provides commercial help for independently owned and operated veterinary businesses in New Zealand. There has been significant change to the ownership landscape since 2005 which was accelerated with the introduction of overseas based corporate owners of companion and production animal clinics.

Our Objectives

VetAlliance aims to deliver:

  • Increased Practice Profitability - Better supplier rebates and savings on products and services translate directly into your business;
  • Be part of a business community that shares the same challenges in common.
  • Ordering Process - Don't change a thing. Continue to place and receive orders from your wholesaler or supplier as usual or take advantage of any commercially beneficial arrangements VetAlliance has to offer.
  • Reduce Costs - Ongoing price reductions and access to increased rebates as total group expenditure through VetAlliance increases.
  • Transparent - Complete visibility of your purchasing and discounts.
  • Opportunity to leverage "Best Practice" to grow your own business. The answers to most questions about getting more from your practice already exist within our group of practices. We facilitate the exchange of practice building ideas that really work.
  • Owner/manager targeted business tools and strategic market place solutions.
  • More - As group membership increases VetAlliance will make more services available to members.

MANAGING DIRECTOR
Brendan Hickman BVSc, BAppSc, PGDipBA

As a part owner of an independent companion animal veterinary clinic in Nelson, I am passionate about trying to make the future of our profession a success. That requires us all working together to help create successful businesses so that those individuals in them can thrive.

I grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Marlborough and have relished the move back to the 'top of the South' after many years away. My veterinary career has included working in mixed practices, equine stud and racing practice, technical veterinarian in a pharmaceutical company (Merial Ancare), and locuming in various cities, villages and emergency clinics in the United Kingdom, as well as a stint in Saudi Arabia. Away from work I enjoy spending time with our three energetic young boys, mountain biking, and adventure racing.
